Fiona Apple arrested for drug possession in Texas

Fiona Apple was arrested for drug possession in Texas on Wednesday after authorities claim to have found hashish -- a strong form of cannabis -- on her tour bus, according to TMZ.

Apple is currently touring to promote her fourth album "The Idler Wheel..." and has not had previous problems with the law. Her tour bus was stopped in Sierra Blanca, TX, which TMZ notes has also been the site of similar celebrity arrests including Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and Armie Hammer.

Apple has commented in the past about her struggles with social anxiety and OCD, but the irony of a singer known for the single "Criminal" getting arrested was not lost on TMZ.

Apple is currently being held at Hudspeth County Jail.
