Billie Joe Armstrong sick no more at Green Day's 2012 MTV VMAs performance

Billie-Joe-Armstrong-Green-Day.jpgGreen Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong showed no signs of the bug that made him so violently ill he had to cancel a concert in Italy over the weekend when he took the stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.

His band performed a fierce rendition of their new single, "Let Yourself Go," at the ceremony. The song comes from the band's upcoming album trilogy "¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tre!," the first part of which hits stores on Sept. 25.

Armstrong told MTV on the VMA red carpet that following his hospitalization he's "doing better. It was a little rough," he says. "But when you get a parasite inside your body -- I've always had a parasite inside my body. This time he decided to dance a little bit more. We're going to create a little chaos tonight, though. It's going to be fun."

Check out the performance below and weigh in: Did he live up to his promise? What do you think of the new Green Day single?
