Arnold Schwarzenegger says affair with maid was 'stupidest thing'

In his new memoir, Arnold Schwarzenegger details how his then-wife, Maria Shriver, confronted him about his love child with their family's housekeeper, Mildred Baena. But in an interview on "60 Minutes" set to air Sunday (Sept. 30), the former California governor also cops to this little nugget: Having an affair was stupid. "I think it was the stupidest thing I've done in the whole relationship. It was terrible. I inflicted tremendous pain on Maria and unbelievable pain on the kids," Schwarzenegger says.
Schwarzenegger also reveals that Shriver has not read his book, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," out Oct. 1.
"I think that Maria is, you know, wishing me well in everything I do," Schwarzenegger says.
In the book, he writes that he and Baena had sex in 1996 in his family's guest house while his wife and children were away on vacation. He tried to convince himself over the years that his son Joseph's father was actually Baena's husband, but the resemblance between himself and the boy was so strong that he "realized there was little doubt that he was my son."
