2012 NFL Kickoff: Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey and No Doubt intro Dallas-New York game

mariah-carey-nfl-kickoff-2012.jpgThe 2012 NFL season kicked off Wednesday night (Sept. 5), the first time in 64 years a regular-season NFL game has been played on a Wednesday. And to launch the festivities were Mariah Carey and No Doubt performing live from Rockefeller Center in New York City. Because nothing says football like the new "American Idol" judge and Gwen Stefani.

Carey took the stage in a glittery gold dress, flanked by Cee Lo Green, for "Triumphant (Get 'Em)," while No Doubt performed "Settle Down," which is at least a little more upbeat than Mariah's diva song, but was still not exactly pumping us up for some gridiron action.

Thankfully, Queen Latifah took to the field for the National Anthem, singing a gospel-style rendition while backed by the Jubilation Choir. It was definitely more mood-setting than the Kickoff Show.
