Tony Scott was not suffering from brain cancer, an autopsy is pending - report

tony-scott-getty.jpgTony Scott, the 68-year-old director of "Top Gun" and "Days of Thunder," jumped to his death Sunday (Aug. 19) in Los Angeles in an apparent suicide. There was a rumor going around the internet Monday that he had been suffering inoperable brain cancer.

But sources are telling TMZ that his wife Donna has told investigators this rumor is "absolutely false" and that he was not suffering from any serious medical issues that could have led to his taking his own life.

More definitive answers will not be known for several weeks. An autopsy is being conducted and the results of that, including toxicology reports, will not be available until then. Sources tell TMZ that there has been no evidence of cancer so far.
