2012 Summer Olympics Day 5: Field hockey is the featured Google Doodle

The Google Doodle has been featuring a different sport every day of the 2012 Summer Olympics so far and the spotlight Wednesday (Aug. 1) falls on field hockey with a mouse-over headline of "She shoots, she scores!"

The men are in action Wednesday, still playing the round robin match-ups in a quest to advance to the knockout round. Australia and the Netherlands are currently on top of the two groups, with second-place South Korea and Great Britain still to play on Wednesday.

On the women's side, the New Zealand are on top of one group and Great Britain and the Netherlands are tied top the other group. Group play continues for the men and women through Aug. 7, with the bracketed knockout phase beginning Wednesday, Aug. 8.
