Olympics 2012: Gabby Douglas takes a fall but remains awesome

gabby-douglas-balance-beam-fall.jpgOlympic gymnast Gabby Douglas has rapidly won over a nation with her contagious smile and good attitude -- neither of which faded on Tuesday, despite a disappointing performance on the balance beam.

Douglas, who won gold medals for her all-around performance and for her performance with Team USA, hit a sour note in the balance beam finals. She slipped off the beam after a back handspring didn't quite land, and she was forced to grab the beam with her arms to keep from falling off.

Luckily, Douglas didn't injure herself, but she did come in last place with a disappointing score of 13.633.

Don't worry, though -- Douglas's Olympic spirit was still intact. She congratulated her teammate Aly Raisman on winning the bronze medal in the same event after another harrowing tiebreaker. With other Olympians disappointing fans with bad behavior, it's refreshing to see Douglas keep her sportsmanlike attitude.

After all... she's still got the vampires on her side.
