Jennifer Lawrence inking $10 million payday for 'Catching Fire' - report

Jennifer-Lawrence-Lionsgate.jpgJennifer Lawrence was one of the factors that propelled "The Hunger Games" to an enormous $683.8 million worldwide box office when it opened in the spring of 2012. Now she reportedly wants a bigger payday for the sequel, "Catching Fire."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actress is negotiating a payday in the $10 million range, which is a combination of salary, bonuses and escalators. Depending on the box office earnings of the film, she could earn more.

Lawrence was reportedly paid just $500,000 upfront plus bonuses based on box office performance for the first "Hunger Games" movies, but it is not uncommon for studios to renegotiate with franchise stars after the success of the first movie. Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are also said to have negotiated for raises, albeit smaller ones than Lawrence.

"Catching Fire," which continues to add new stars almost daily, begins shooting in September in Georgia. It is set for a release date of Nov. 22, 2013.
