iPhone 5 price rumored at $800: How much would you pay for an upgrade?
First of all, calm down, tech nerds. Despite a rumor on Twitter, there's no actual evidence or source to support the claim that the next iPhone will set you back a whopping $800. The terms "iPhone 5 $800" and "#800DollarsForAniPhone" trended worldwide on the social networking site on Thursday... but no one is sure why.Apple still hasn't announced a release date for an iPhone 5, and they won't announce a price point until the keynote. Last year, the iPhone 4S was announced on October 4.
The design is expected to be upgraded, with a brushed-steel body and a screen that's up to half an inch larger. The charging/dock size may be significantly smaller, with adapters available so that you can use your old chargers.
It's also expected to be faster and with a more high-quality display screen.
Experts suggest that if you're in the market for a new iPhone, you should hold off at this point, because the updated version is likely to be released this fall.
It will probably not, however, cost you $800.
