Box office: 'Dark Knight Rises' easily wins weekend over 'Total Recall'
"The Dark Knight Rises" continued its reign in theaters this weekend, bringing in $36.4 million three-day total. Christopher Nolan's final film in the Batman trilogy has now grossed $354.6 million domestically since it opened on July 20."Total Recall," the remake of the 1990 sci-fi flick, earns $26 million in its opening weekend with Colin Farrell in the role Arnold Schwarzenegger originated.
"Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" pulls $14.7 million in its first weekend at the box office. "Ice Age: Continental Drift" and "The Watch" round out the top five in theaters with $8.4 million and $6.35 million respectively.
