Zachary Levi confirms he'll be in 'Thor 2'

zachary-levi-confirms-thor-2-tonight-show.JPGZachary Levi is officially part of "Thor 2" -- so says Zachary Levi.

The "Chuck" star confirmed that he'll part of the movie -- reports of his casting surfaced last month, but there was no official word -- during an appearance on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday (July 10). It's the reason for the goatee he's now sporting.

Levi is taking over the role of Fandral, one of Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) Warriors Three, from Josh Dallas, who's committed to ABC's "Once Upon a Time." Levi was in a similar situation for the first "Thor," when his ties to "Chuck" forced him to turn down the role.

"Thor 2" begins shooting in England in a few weeks, and Levi says he's also going to take in some of the London Olympics while he's there -- though since he's no longer an NBC employee, he doesn't know if he'll be able to score prime tickets. The Olympics talk then leads to an embarrassing story about Levi's exploits on his high-school diving team -- "I knew this was going to come back to haunt me," he says -- and the fact that his mom bought him Speedos that were too big. "I was a late bloomer," Levi adds sheepishly.

You can watch the full interview -- including Levi sharing his Comic-Con plans and a man-on-the-street piece in which he asks people what they're nerdy about -- in two parts below.
