Tom Cruise kicks butt in new 'Jack Reacher' trailer

Tom Cruise might be a tad shorter than the main character of "Jack Reacher" is supposed to be in Lee Child's book series, but after watching the first trailer for the movie adaptation, Cruise's pure butt-kicking power might be able to overcome that slight height discrepancy.

After all, Cruise is 50 years old and can still beat the crap out of a group of dudes, as demonstrated in the clip.

As we come to find out, Jack Reacher isn't a cop, but he used to be. He's basically a vigilante out for justice no matter the cost (at least that's the impression the trailer gives). "He doesn't care about proof. He doesn't care about the law. He only cares about what's right," says one of his enemies.

Reacher confirms that statement: "I am not a hero, and if you're smart, that scares you."

Not enough to sell you? Well, there's also more ass-kicking, some fast driving and a sexy lady in lingerie. "Jack Reacher" hits theaters in December.
