Tom Cruise divorce: Katie Holmes steps out without wedding ring

Katie Homes surfaced on Monday (July 2) in New York wearing a navy shirtdress, a sleek ponytail and no wedding ring.

The 33-year-old actress was photographed leaving a "Project Runway" taping, according to TMZ. The site also reports that Holmes was seen wearing her ring as early as last week, days before she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise on Thursday in New York City.

Holmes reportedly believes her marriage to Cruise was "irretrievably broken" at least six months ago, while sources say Cruise had "no idea" and was "blindsided" by the divorce.

The couple married in November 2006 and have one child together, Suri, 6. Cruise has two other children adopted with his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman -- Connor, now 17, and Isabella, 19.
