'Life of Pi' trailer: Ang Lee debuts first look

The trailer for Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" hit the web on Wednesday (July 15) and fans of the Yann Martel novel can relax -- it looks good. Whether it will be good is another story, but visually, Lee has created a stunningly rich visual landscape.

"Life of Pi" tells the story of a boy who gets shipwrecked on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger. As they drift through the ocean, the book also explored issues of spirituality and humanity. How Lee will translate that part of the book to film remains to be seen.

Watch to see the amazing interactions between actor Suraj Sharma and the CG tiger. Also make sure to note the incredible moment when a massive whale leaps out of the ocean at night, trailing bioluminescent water.
