Katie Holmes speaks out on Tom Cruise divorce: 'I'm alright'

In the midst of a jaunt to Whole Foods for a bit of Fourth of July fare, Katie Holmes paused long enough to tell one New York Daily News reporter she's faring just fine since filing for divorce from husband Tom Cruise on Friday (June 29).

"I'm alright," said the 33-year-old as she browsed the aisles with six-year-old daughter Suri perched in the shopping cart. The reporter had asked how she was holding up since the split.

According to the Daily News report, Holmes stocked up on hamburgers, buns, strawberries and bananas. A security guard hovered nearby, but aside from that, it was an uneventful trip to the store for mom and daughter.

"She's not going to hide," a source close to Holmes tells the Daily News. "She's going to live her life."
