Fred Willard replaced by Mark L. Walberg on PBS' 'Market Warriors'
At the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the executive session for PBS addressed the recent controversy over Fred Willard's arrest for alleged lewd conduct in an adult theater in Hollywood on Wednesday (July 18). Willard was set to host "Market Warriors," a spinoff of "Antiques Roadshow." It was already announced Willard was out at the show.Paula Kerger, President and Chief Executive Officer at PBS, says, "As you are aware of the unfortunate circumstances with Fred this week, we actually are in production with ["Market Warriors"], so at the end of the week when it became known, we realized that we actually needed to move fast because we're taping now."
"We talked to [Willard] and we decided that what we would do is bring in Mark Walberg, who as you know is hosting 'Antiques Roadshow' ... and we asked Mark to do both," says Kerger.
