Bret Michaels and Kristi Gibson call off engagement

Looks like all is not rosy between Bret Michaels and his longtime girlfriend, Kristi Gibson: The pair have called off their engagement, according to Michaels' rep.

"Although the couple have separated they remain great friends and are committed to jointly raising their two daughters," the "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" singer's rep tells People.

Michaels and Gibson are parents to Raine Elizabeth, 12, and Jorja Bleu, 7. The couple got engaged in December 2010 after more than 16 year together. Michaels' proposal aired on the finale of his VH1 reality show, "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It."

We're assuming the split could make its way into the biopic the Poison frontman is reportedly developing.

"Mostly, when you see rock movies, it has to be this over-the-top thing," Michaels tells the Columbus Dispatch. "I want to give people a Bret Michaels movie where they see that my life is a comedy of errors."
