Tommy Lasorda hospitalized after heart attack

tommy-lasorda-getty.jpgFormer Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda suffered what is being called a "mild" heart attack on Monday (June 4), this according to TMZ.

The publication is reporting that Lasorda, 84, is currently in a New York hospital recovering. He is expected to be released Wednesday (June 6).

Lasorda was in the Big Apple representing the Dodgers at the MLB draft. The report goes on to say that he was to announce the team's picks, but because of the medical emergency, he withdrew.

The World Series winner quit coaching in 1996 after suffering a heart attack. His 1,599 career wins places him 16th all-time in MLB history.

Get well soon Tommy.
