'The Avengers': Superhero flick third biggest movie ever
Superheroes can do anything. They can save the world from certain peril. They can fly. And one other thing they can do - make a lot of money."The Avengers" has just passed "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" to become the third-highest grossing movie ever. Since the film was released in May, it's grossed $1.331 billion worldwide, this according to The Hollywood Reporter. This puts it past the "Harry Potter" film, which took in $1.328 billion.
It doesn't appear that "The Avengers" will be able to move much past this spot, however. It still trails "Titanic," which earned $1.8 billion and "Avatar." The alien flick earned $2.8 billion worldwide.
Not surprisingly, Disney has already announced that they're making a sequel to "The Avengers." Perhaps that one will top them all?
