'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood begins five-year prison sentence
The saga of "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood is well-documented, and here's another development for the record: Portwood has officially checked into prison to serve her five-year sentence, TMZ reports. After being arrested on drug charges and violating her probation in December of 2011 (she had prescription pills that weren't prescribed to her), a judge ordered her to complete rehab to avoid 5 years in prison. However, in May Portwood returned to the court and asked to be locked up because she wasn't able to stay clean on her own.
The 22-year-old checked into an Indiana prison the morning of June 14 to begin serving out her sentence, having been transported from jail to the Rockville Correctional Facility around 7:45 a.m., reports TMZ.
