Stephen King's 'It' to be directed by Cary Fukunaga in two films

pennywise-it-movie-abc.jpgPrepare to be freaked out once again by Stephen King's evil clown Pennywise. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cary Fukunaga ("Jane Eyre") is set to direct Warner Bros' adaptation over two films and will co-write the script with Chase Palmer, who adapted "Dune" for Paramount.

King's 1986 book follows a group of kids who encounter a demon that preys on children by taking the form of an evil clown. When It returns 30 years later, the kids -- now adults -- have to regroup to battle It again.

"It" was previously adapted as a television miniseries in 1990, starring John Ritter, Harry Anderson, Tim Reid, Annette O'Toole, Richard Thomas and Tim Curry.
