Rolling Stones retiring? Band denies break up rumors and plans for 50th anniversary

Have Mick Jagger and Keith Richards played their last tunes together?

Of course not. Despite rumors to the contrary, the Rolling Stones deny that they have any plans to retire or formally break up. A UK tabloid reported that Jagger, Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts would play their final show together at Glastonbury at the Somerset Festival.

None of that, of course, is true. A rep for the band says that they don't have a performance scheduled at Glastonbury, and there are no plans to end their run as a band. "Everybody in the year off thinks they've come up with the perfect Glastonbury lineup. But at the moment there isn't anything to confirm or deny," says a rep for Glastonbury.

This January, the Stones will celebrate their 50th anniversary together, as Watts didn't join the line-up until January of 1963. There's no word yet as to whether there are any anniversary plans, but Jagger's recent "Saturday Night Live" gig proved that he's not quite ready to gather moss.
