Lindsay Lohan driving with open container of alcohol during car crash

Several rehab stints and a mountain of past legal troubles apparently weren't enough to convince actress Lindsay Lohan that it might not be the best idea to be anywhere near an open container of alcohol -- much less driving with one.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the "Liz & Dick" star had a plastic water bottle filled with alcohol in the trunk of her rented Porsche when she crashed into a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway on Friday (June 8). Cops reportedly confiscated the bottle after the accident, which sent LiLo and her assistant to the hospital.

Thankfully for Lohan, it's not a violation in the state of California to drive with an open container in the trunk, and she reportedly had no alcohol in her system -- but still probably not the wisest move on her part.
