'Iron Man 3': First image from superhero movie released

Hot on the heels of the success of "The Avengers," Robert Downey Jr. is already looking to get back into his famed Iron Man uniform.

Marvel has released a new image of the actor on the set of "Iron Man 3." It is here that Downey, as Tony Stark, gazes upon his ever-evolving body armor. In a bit of backstage fun, we see the clapboard operator indicating they're ready to shoot.

In addition to Downey, the usual suspects of Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Jon Favreau will all be back for the third installment. The film will also feature James Badge Dale, Rebecca Hall, Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce.

The picture will film in North Carolina, Miami and China.

"Iron Man 3" is slated for a May 2013 release.
