Channing Tatum and Steven Soderbergh plan 'Magic Mike' musical

channing-tatum-magic-mike-shirtless.jpgWhile "Magic Mike" screenwriter Reid Carolin let it slip that he was currently working on a musical version of the soon-to-be-hit movie, now word has it that co-producer Channing Tatum and directer Steven Soderbergh are getting in on the Broadway action too.

Tatum and Soderbergh are both attached to the "Magic Mike: The Musical" project as producers, along with Carolin and partners Nick Wechsler and Gregory Jacobs. According to Deadline, it's being readied for its Broadway debut in 2013, and is being shepherded into development by an important theater agent.

Carolin will write the musical's book -- no word on who's signing on to write the score.

"Magic Mike" is loosely based on Tatum's life as a stripper when he was 19 and living in Tampa, Florida.
