Box office: 'Madagascar 3' pushes past 'Prometheus' with $60.3M weekend

Performing even better that expected, "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" raked in an estimated $60.3 million domestically for the weekend as of Sunday (June 10).

The DreamWorks Animation CGI sequel beat out Ridley Scott's "Prometheus," which brought in $50 million for the weekend after taking in $21.4 million on Friday.

Last week's No. 1 film, "Snow White and the Huntsman," fell to third place this weekend with $23 million. Rounding out the top five are "Men in Black 3" with $13.5 million and "The Avengers" with $10.8 million.
