'Van Helsing': Tom Cruise replaces Hugh Jackman in franchise reboot

tom-cruise-hair-gi.jpg'Van Helsing' will return to theaters, but don't look for Hugh Jackman in the title role. Instead, Tom Cruise will be stepping into the vampire slayer's shoes in a reboot of the franchise.

Universal announced that Cruise is attached to star in a re-imagining of the tale, reports E!, bringing in Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci -- the screenwriting duo behind "Star Trek 2" and "Transformers" who previously worked with Cruise on "Mission Impossible 3."

What do you think? Will Tom Cruise (who previously played an actual vampire in "Interview with the Vampire") make a good Van Helsing or should Universal have stuck with Hugh Jackman? Or, reaching way back, are you a fan of the Anthony Hopkins Van Helsing from "Bram Stoker's Dracula?"
