Michael McKean tweets his fans after being struck by car

Actor Micheal McKean is in stable condition after he was hit by a car on Tuesday (May 22) in New York and now he's feeling well enough to tweet his thanks to friends, family and doctors.

"Lucky man: best wife, great kids, awesome docs and nurses, priceless friends; a little overwhelmed by the sweet tweets," he writes. "Love all y'all."

McKean was struck when a car jumped the curb in Manhattan. Although doctors expect him to make a full recovery, he's had to bow out of his Broadway show, Gore Vidal's "The Best Man."

McKean is best known for his roles in "This is Spinal Tap," "Best in Show" and classic TV's "Laverne & Shirley."
