Met Costume Gala 2012: Carey Mulligan sparkles in Prada

At the 2012 Met Costume Institute Gala, co-hostess Carey Mulligan (recently married to Marcus Mumford) cut a striking figure in a gold and silver-scaled knee-length dress by honoree Miuccia Prada.

Prada, along with Elsa Schiaparelli, headline this year's exhibit, titled "Impossible Conversations." On display through August, the exhibit highlights the two Italian women designers from very different eras.

Also on hand for the high-fashion red carpet were "Mad Men's" Jessica Pare, actresses Greta Gerwig and Lena Dunham ("Girls"), Bruno Mars, Amber Heard, Donald Trump, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel Zoe and Dakota Fanning.
