Kim Kardashian clears up Indian food diss
Kim Kardashian's in hot water over a comment she made about Indian cuisine on Sunday's (May 27) episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." She called the food "disgusting" but felt compelled to defend herself after some Twitter followers revolted. Kim writes on her website that in "NO way was this intended as an insult to the Indian people or their culture."
"This is just my own personal taste," she continues. "There are a lot of foods I don't like... I hate cilantro and peppers, and there are definitely some Armenian foods that I personally find disgusting, but that doesn't reflect my opinions on other Armenian people or my culture. My comment wasn't intended to offend anybody. We all have our own opinions and tastes and I was simply expressing mine."
Some folks may just be genetically predisposed to dislike foods like cilantro, at least according to studies by Charles J. Wysocki of the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia. So we're actually on Kim's side with this one.
What do you think? Was the (sorta) apology necessary?
