Katy Perry to debut new song 'Wide Awake' at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Katy Perry will debut a brand new song called "Wide Awake" at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, which will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20 on ABC.

The song was written for her upcoming film "Katy Perry: Part of Me" and will be heard for the first time, live on the show. Perry debuted the song "Part of Me" at the 2012 Grammy Awards. At the time, everyone assumed the song was about ex-husband Russell Brand, though Perry later denied it.
