Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis 'want to make it work'

Coming on the heels of Johnny Depp's recent announcement that stories of his split from long-time partner Vanessa Paradis "are not true," E! is reporting that the couple is trying to mend their rumored-troubled relationship.

A source tells the publication that Depp, 48, and Paradis, 39, are "trying to work it out."

"For the first time in a long time, he is talking about her...They both want to make it work," the source goes on to say.

Depp has been insistent that he and Paradis are still very much an item, this despite not having been seen together in a long time. At a recent red carpet event for his movie "Dark Shadows," the solo Depp tells The Sun, "I can't say enough about it not being over...No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite."

The couple became an item in 1998. They have two children together, Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 10.
