Charlie Sheen denies buying Lawrence Taylor's Super Bowl Ring
It turns out that Charlie Sheen may have been uncharacteristically conservative when it comes to buying himself lavish gifts. Despite reports that he had paid a whopping $230,000 for Lawrence Taylor's Super Bowl ring, Sheen says there's no truth to the story."As much as I would be honored to own such an important artifact, I had nothing to do with the acquisition," sheen tells ESPN's Dan Patrick.
The ring, which Taylor got after the Giants beat the Bills in Super Bowl XXV, was sold at auction for the exorbitant price, but the buyer remains a mystery.
As we previously reported, Sheen is a known buyer of high-price sports memorabilia. He owns Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring.
