Carrie Underwood's album 'Blown Away' proves she's more than a 'Good Girl'

carrie-underwood-blown-away-album-cover-bigger.jpgCarrie Underwood's fourth album drops Tuesday (May 1), and if her new single "Good Girl" is any indication, fans of Underwood's crossover sound should prepare to be "Blown Away."

The "American Idol" winner has come a long way, co-writing eight of the 14 tracks on her new album compared with only one on her debut record.

"When you go in to write, you have to be willing to sound stupid," Underwood tells the Associated Press during a recent interview at the Grand Ole Opry. "Before you have a chance to think about something, you blurt it out and it doesn't make any sense, and everybody gets a good laugh out of it. You can't be afraid to sound completely dumb when you go to write."

Underwood released her last album, "Play On," in 2009 before marrying NHL star Mike Fisher, but according to Billboard.com, "Blown Away" is not a collection of sappy love songs.
