'The Hunger Games' wins everything! No. 1 book, soundtrack, and film in the country
"The Hunger Games" was one of the most highly anticipated films of the year -- and when that's the case, there's always a chance that the final product won't actually live up to the hype. Fortunately, Jennifer Lawrence led the film to a soaring box office victory two weekends in a row -- and that's not all.The franchise has achieved a rare trifecta. This week, "The Hunger Games" is the top movie at the box office. "The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 And Beyond" is the number one album in the country. And, finally, Suzanne Collins' original novel, "The Hunger Games" -- the first in a trilogy that includes "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" -- is the number one book.
The film is already about to hit $250 million domestically, and it hasn't even been in theaters for two weeks yet.
Happy Hunger Games, indeed.
