The Fray's emo national anthem at NCAA title game gets lackluster reception

The Fray's version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Monday's (April 2) NCAA national title game between the Kentucky Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks could have been subtitled, "Why the National Anthem Should Never Be Given an Emo Twist." The performance is now earning the band some backlash, though, at least they remembered all the words -- which is more than can be said for some performers.

The arrangement included two guitars, a marching snare drum and a tambourine, along with the emo mark of earnest vocals from the Denver, Colo., band's frontman Isaac Slade.

What did you think of the Fray's version of the national anthem?
