Seattle named 'Best City for Hipsters'

michael-cera-hipster-getty.jpgSeattle, it's time to break out your skinny jeans, ironic t-shirt and Pabst Blue Ribbon. You were just earned the title of the "Best City for Hipsters," this according to Travel + Leisure magazine.

The publication ranked the Top 35 metropolitan markets in the U.S. and Puerto Rico for hipster-friendly qualities like its music scene, coffee shops and independent boutiques. The former grunge capital of the world came out on top for its "geek chic" culture.

Coming in second is Seattle's neighbor to the south, Portland, OR. In their review of Portland, the publication says the city is "audaciously quirky, and they boast great beer, creative street food and bicycle enthusiasts."

Rounding out the top five are San Francisco, New Orleans and Portland, ME. Cities that were surprisingly absent from the top of the list are New York (#12) and Los Angeles (#18).

Here's the Top 10.
