Sarah Silverman tweets before-and-after abortion picture

Sarah Silverman is a comedian and an edgy one at that. But her latest attempt at humor -- a before-and-after picture of herself posted to Twitter with the caption "Got a quickie aborsh in case R v W gets overturned" -- is igniting a bit of a backlash. Which was probably the point, so score 1 for Sarah.

Silverman actually posted the photo on Friday (April 13). The before image shows Silverman with her boyfriend, "Family Guy" writer Alec Sulkin, and what appears to be a prominent baby bump. The second shows Silverman in th same outfit, but sporting a flat, toned tummy.

But a quick peek at Silverman's tweets reveal that she'd originally posted the bump picture solo a few hours earlier with the caption "It's a burrito!" Still, conservative bloggers are not amused, calling the image and it's message "vile and disturbing."

It is, however, a joke confirms Silverman's manager to EW. And not an untimely one considering GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney's vow to overturn Roe v. Wade -- the landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in 1973.
