Robin Gibb fully conscious and 'able to speak to his loved ones'

Ailing singer Robin Gibb has woken from his comatose state, though he continues to battle colorectal cancer. Though he had obviously taken a turn for the worse, doctors were surprised over the weekend when Gibb emerged from his coma.

Gibb had acquired pneumonia as a result of his weakened state from chemotherapy and two surgeries to remove tumors.

Now, Gibb's son, Robin-John Gibb, tells ITV that his father is fully lucid and able to speak though he was only given a small chance of even waking from the coma in the first place. "The [doctors] gave him an under 10 percent survival chance and he has beaten the odds," he says.
