Lingerie Football League goes on hiatus for 2012 season

lingerie-football-league-pictures-wardrobe-malfunction-kissFans of the Lingerie Football League, which really exists, will have to wait until 2013 to see the next match-up between any of the 11 teams in the league. On Friday, spokesman Jim Wallin announced that the teams will go on hiatus until April 2013 "so it can get on a warm weather schedule in the spring and summer," reports Yahoo! Sports.

Which totally makes sense since uniforms consist of bras, panties, unattached garter clips and knee-high socks. The league -- which pits teams of seven women against each other on the gridiron -- launched in 2009. So far, the Los Angeles Temptation has won all three championship titles.

Don't worry, though -- the players will be kept busy touring Australia and Asia until they return to play. And, says Wallin, they may even add more teams in the U.S. and Canada.

Title 9 is alive, folks.
