Jake Gyllenhaal set for off-Broadway debut
Jake Gyllenhaal will make his off-Broadway debut in September in the ensemble comedy-drama "If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet" by British playwright Nick Payne. The play -- which debuts Sept. 20 at New York's Laura Pels Theatre -- marks Gyllenhaal's U.S. stage debut, though he has appeared in stage productions in London's West End, reports the Los Angeles Times. The story revolves around a 15-year-old girl with a weight problem. Gyllenhaal plays an uncle -- a drifter who arrives at her home unannounced and forms a friendship with the girl.
If he needs advice, Jake can ask sister Maggie Gyllenhaal who has appeared off-Broadway several times.
As for big screen work, Gyllenhaal will appear next in "End of Watch" with Anna Kendrick and America Ferrara -- due in theaters, coincidentally, in September.
