Hipster 'Game of Thrones' and Batman's dating profile

Each Friday, the Zap2it staff features five essential things we found [cool] [interesting] [useful] [hilarious] [poignant] [stupid] in the past week. Do you have your own Friday 5? Share them in the comments section below.

#1: Dino-Avengers

"The Avengers" as dinosaurs? Dinosaur artist Teryll Whitlatch created these guys and made geeks everywhere want a spin off comic. He tells Tor.com, "It was fun deciding what dinosaurs should be what characters. I ended up with an Ankylosaur as Iron Man (a no-brainer, as this animal is naturally armored), a Parasaurolophus as Captain America, just because I thought with that crest it would look really funny, a Triceratops as Thor, especially since when it grows up it is actually a Torosaurus, hence "Thor"-osaurus, and a T-rex as the Hulk so I could give it really muscularly odd little arms.

#2: Hipster "Game of Thrones"

This Tumblr account has us giggling every time we take a look. One of the newest entries in "Hipster 'Game of Thrones'" is appropriate for the most recent episode in which Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) joins Renly's (Gethin Anthony) guard. To see more of the same, head over here.

This is a little bit horrifying, even for fans of "meat candy." Japanese Burger Kings are letting you add 15 extra strips of bacon for 100 Yen (which is around $1.25). A website decided to add 1,050 strips of bacon to their Whopper and attempt to eat it. Ugh. More on the story here.

#4: Batman's dating profile

Hey, even Batman has a hard time finding love. Sure, as Bruce Wayne he's got lots of cash cache, but having a conversation about how you dress up in a crazy costume and beat up bad guys can make a relationship hard. Check out his full profile and see if you're a match here.

#5: Female gladiator statue found, proving that even ancient women kicked butt

A 2,000 year old statue showing a female gladiator or "gladiatrix" was found. At least they think so. If this is confirmed, the statue is only the second depiction of a woman gladiator ever found. Well, "Spartacus: Vengeance" might be over for the season, but this might help tide you over until next season. More on the statue at LiveScience.
