Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong says three new albums are on the way

Green Day fans! Your wish has come true and the announcement comes directly from Billie Joe Armstrong himself via. Twitter. Armstrong tweeted the news that the band will release three -- yes, three new albums a few months apart.

Here's what he says. "Ok. Here's the deal. We're making a 3 album trilogy. Not 1. Not 2. But 3 albums. Called ¡UNO! ¡DOS! ¡TRE! Coming September November January." This will be their first album since 2009's "21st Century Breakdown.

Green Day started back in 1987 and has recently found success with their hit Broadway musical "American Idiot." Are you guys excited about the upcoming albums? Does it seem like an odd marketing strategy? Let us know what you think.
