'Dark Knight' trailer to run before 'Avengers'

The warring factions in the DC vs. Marvel superhero universe have reached a detente...or at least for a moment.

NolanFans.com is reporting that a trailer for the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises" will precede the "The Avengers" when it starts in theaters May 4. The newest Batman movie is slated for a July 18, 2012 release.

Strangely, this is not the first time that a DC Comic-based movie has run a preview before a Marvel film. This last happened in 2008 when a trailer for "The Dark Knight" ran in the minutes leading up to "Iron Man."

If only the two heroic entities could unite in the face of crime, we'd have peace on earth. But that's not likely to happen any time soon.
