Anne Hathaway debuts short haircut for 'Les Miserables'

Anne Hathaway has cut off her long locks in the name of a role. The actress stepped out in London on Sunday (April 8) with her fiance, Adam Shulman, and her new short 'do, which she reportedly got to slip into character for Fantine in the upcoming film adaptation of "Les Miserables."

People magazine reports that the "One Day" actress tried to cover her new haircut from photographers (check out People for the full photo). Some outlets were also reporting that Hathaway is on a strict, 500-calorie-a-day diet for the movie, but her rep flatly denies the rumor.

"The story is a huge exaggeration," her rep Stephen Huvane tells The Huffington Post. "Anne is on a special diet but is not looking to lose that much weight, and she's consuming more than 500 calories a day. She just needs to look more frail as she is playing a prostitute who is dying of tuberculosis."
