Yoda, 'Ugliest Dog' title holder, dies

Yoda, the reigning winner of the World's Ugliest Dog crown, died March 10. She was 15.

The Chinese crested-Chihuahua mix earned the title in June 2011 at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Northern California. For her dogged pursuit of the honor, the 1.8 pound Yoda won $1,000 as well as other prizes.

In an email to the Hanford Sentinel, Yoda's owner Terry Schumacher writes, "Say a prayer today 4 my YODA...She passed away last night in her sleep. I will miss her funny little ways! But comforted knowing she will be joining my Mom and Dad, who loved her so much! Her memories will live on forever!!!"
