Whitney Houston's sister-in-law: 'The handwriting was kind of on the wall'
For the first time since Whitney Houston died on Feb. 11, her family members are starting to talk publicly about the late pop icon. And according to her sister-in-law and manager Patricia Houston, Whitney's death wasn't entirely a shock.
In a preview of her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Patricia says of Whitney's death, "The handwriting was kind of on the wall. I would be kidding myself to say otherwise."
She adds that Whitney was living what she perceived to be a dangerous lifestyle. Patricia tells Oprah, "Things were really changing with her...It wasn't about substance abuse or anything like that...it was just more of a lifestyle."
When pressed on the matter, Patricia adds, "I saw her chasing a dream, you know, looking for love in all the wrong places."
It is unknown whether or not this is a reference to Ray J, the man who Whitney was romantically linked to at the time of her death.
The full interview airs on OWN on Sunday (March 11) at 9 p.m. ET. Oprah will also talk with Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina and her brother Gary Houston.
