'The Fault in Our Stars' movie gets writers; John Green approves

the-fault-in-our-stars.jpgIf you haven't read "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green, you're missing out on one of the best novels of the year. Yes, it's technically classified as Young Adult fiction, but Real Adults can enjoy it too. We promise.

Given the current trends, it's no surprise that "The Fault in Our Stars" was optioned very early by Fox 2000. The book, about two teenagers who meet at a cancer support group and fall in love while seeking out the author of their favorite book, debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times Bestseller list for Children's Chapter Books and was a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice.

Now, writing partners Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber have signed a deal to adapt the novel, Deadline reports. The film will be produced by Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen -- best known for their work on the "Twilight" franchise.

Green voiced his approval via Twitter, posting, "Awesome writers have signed on to pen The Fault in Our Stars screenplay. I'm psyched."
