Peyton Manning signs with Broncos; Tim Tebow's days with franchise are likely numbered
Tebowmania in Denver is officially over. The Broncos announced on Tuesday (March 20) they've signed multi-time MVP Peyton Manning to be the signal caller for their football team.Manning, who is coming off of multiple neck surgeries, signed a five-year contract reported to be worth $96 million. ESPN is saying that Manning's contract will also feature an injury waiver covering his surgically-repaired neck. So if Manning re-injures his neck in the 2013 season, the Broncos won't have to play his 2014 salary
As for Tim Tebow, the quarterback who led the Broncos to the playoffs, he's likely to be traded. Teams reportedly interested include the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. The team with the greatest need of these four is probably the Dolphins, as they've gone through a revolving door of QBs ever since Dan Marino retired. The Packers and Jets are simply looking for back ups. The Jaguars already have Blaine Gabbert and just signed Chad Henne to a two-year deal. So Tebow would likely be way down on the depth chart.
If no trading partner is interested in Tebow, the Broncos might just release him.
Tebowmania. It was fun while it lasted.
