New 'Avengers' pictures released: Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, and more

Mark Ruffalo's casting as Bruce Banner for Joss Whedon's "The Avengers" wasn't without controversy thanks to a rather public rejection of former Hulk Edward Norton. Fans who doubted Ruffalo's ability to embody the role may see their concerns assuaged by the recently released trailer -- and, of course, by new photos of Ruffalo.

Marvel has released ten new stills from the film, featuring not only Ruffalo, but Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man... and more.
